On part throttle VTEC engages at approx 3200RPM. When slowing down (in gear and foot off the throttle) VTEC shuts off at approx 3000RPM. Off VTEC it fully opens 4 intake valves and partially opens the other 4 valves (one fully open, one partially open valve per cylinder) On VTEC it fully opens all 8 intake valves.
