Flame Start device:-. This is the more unusual part of the system. This engine does not have glow plugs like most diesel engines (electrical heaters in the cylinders that help ignite the fuel when the engine is cold), instead it has a ‘flame start’ device in the inlet manifold. This is a single heater plug and an additional diesel supply

The 2 ( coolant temperature sensor and map sensor work together) and your cold starting issues point to the map If your coolant is rusty replace it for the sake of £25 of coolant concentrate to protect the innards of the engine and radiator see the guides section its a simple enough task
Oct 14, 2013. #3. Hi, The door open switch is a small microswitch located in the latch module on each door. There is one in each door AND the boot lid. Unfortunately there is no simple plunger type switch as there used to be on older cars as Fingers describes, the switch is built into the door lock mechanism itself.
I see on the last @HughJampton post the connector number - the one located under the driver's step. Thanks That's helpful. I've ordered another loom that has connectors for the temperature sensor and folding + power mirrors, but apparently it's the right side one, though LHD. Have to find the left side now to check everything will be working fine.
MAP sensor, Fiat part number 050424527, cost £43.07, inside the box the part is Bosch part number 0 281 002 845 price £31.99 on ebay inc postage. If you look at the photo there is an inset of mine as extracted, totally clogged with an oil / carbon sludge.
